Welcome to Free Myanmar

Welcome to Free Myanmar, a global network of citizens and activists who share a common goal of ending military rule in Myanmar (Burma) while transitioning the country into a truly democratic federal union that provides equal opportunities to all regardless of race, religion, gender and background. This movement was born out of necessity and urgency during the Myanmar military coup of February 2021, when a nascent democracy was ruthlessly crushed by the military dictators in a similar cycle that has been taking place since 1962. We can’t let sixty years of sad rigmarole carry on as generations of Myanmars have lost their hopes, futures and freedoms while the country descends into a least developed nation state as economy is constantly cannibalized by the conglomerates that are owned by the top military brass. Free Myanmar aims to end these patterns. We plan to exert pressure on the military dictators through the international community while collaborating with internal democratic forces in nonviolent ways. We need your help.
